PLANO, Texas, Oct. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Mott's, the
nation's leading producer of branded apple sauce and apple juice
has recently launched a new website that is aimed at helping
parents teach children healthy eating habits while cooking
together. 'Teachable Tastes,' recently launched and Mott's tapped
their agency partner, The Richards Group, to help bring this
innovative tool to life.
"We wanted to provide parents a fun and engaging tool that would
help them to instill positive eating habits in their children at a
young age,"said Meena Sen director
of marketing, Motts. "Through research Mott's found that many kids
have aversions to various foods and because of several key factors,
they will not even attempt what they perceive to be "gross."
Teachable Tastes aims to teach families the fundamentals of
healthy eating by cooking together and providing recipes and tips
that tackle the four common barriers: texture, appearance, flavor
and aroma. Introducing new food to your children can be challenging
and surprisingly, it can take up to 15-20 tastes for a child to
embrace a new food. So, with the help of leading child
nutritionists, Teachable Tastes tackles those barriers.
"If you think about it, there are quite a
few educational opportunities for expecting moms such
as 8-week Lamaze classes, but there is
nothing comprehensive and effective for properly handling
the 18-year project of feeding your child," said Jill Castle.
The new innovative Mott's website features a catalog of animated
recipe videos centered around the themes of texture, appearance,
flavor and aroma; however, these aren't your ordinary recipes.
Since children are more open to new foods when they're included in
the process, each recipe offers simple steps for both children and
parents. With every recipe, there are a plethora of tips, fun
lessons and engaging activities that make healthy eating exciting
and teach kids healthy habits that will last a lifetime.
Mott's, with the help of The Richards Group, held a workshop
with some of the nation's leading child nutrition experts to draw
some key insights into the eating habits of children.

For instance, children focus on much more than just the taste of
food and often make decisions based on things like touch, color and
texture. Through research we have found that there are still plenty
of misconceptions and myths about feeding that are common among
parents.
"If you think about it, we have things like 8-week Lamaze
classes, but there is nothing substantial and effective for
properly handling the 18-year project of feeding your child," said
Jill Castle.
