June 06 2016 - 8:36AM
Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon
U.S.A., Inc., today announced its participation in the National
Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP) Meeting, held
recently in San Antonio, TX. Each year, the industry-leading event
brings together over 400 procurement professionals from schools
large and small, public and private, across the country.
Representing Canon Solutions America at this year's event was the
Company's Enterprise Managed Services Division, which focuses on
delivering advanced and innovative output solutions for the higher
education market, among others. The NAEP Annual Meeting is one of
the premier higher education procurement solutions conferences in
the country that has grown exponentially over the last five years.
Designed to map the future of procurement in higher education, the
event provides guests the opportunity to network with esteemed
procurement professionals from around the nation who present best
practices and success stories from their respective academic
institutions. Now in its 95th year, the 2016 installment hosted
over 50 educational sessions and once again gave attendees an
exclusive and perceptive look into the future of higher education
procurement solutions. Attending this year's event on behalf of
Canon Solutions America was the Company's ever-growing Enterprise
Managed Services Division. The Division was represented by its
Higher Education Advisory Team, which was formed specifically to
deliver tailor-made print and output solutions that allow clients
to focus on and achieve their core mission, based on extensive
research on higher education best-in-class programs. Members of the
team participated in event activities and engaged with many of its
customers who held sessions on higher education procurement trends.
"This year the NAEP Meeting proved once more why it is the premier
higher education procurement solutions event in the country," said
Rick Ranft, senior director, Enterprise Managed Services Division,
Canon Solutions America. "The insight and the forecasting that
takes place are second to none. There is not an event like it, and
to see so many of our valued customers holding dynamic and
thought-provoking sessions speaks to our relationships with
organizations that produce key leaders within the higher education
space." Among the many engaging presenters at this year's NAEP
Meeting were procurement leaders from around the country that
included Stephen Mack, associate vice president, Procurement
Services, Drexel University and Nichol Luoma, associate vice
president, University Business Services, Arizona State University,
both of whom work closely with the Enterprise Managed Services
Division. The two engaging speakers held some of the event's most
dynamic sessions, which included the following topics: Using Spend
Analytics to Drive Organizational Change and Return on Investment;
Material Management – Partnering with Facilities to Make MRO
Strategic; Revenue Generation: How Procurement Can Be Involved in
Sponsorships; and What Does it Take to be a Chief Procurement
Officer? Throughout the event additional sessions were led by
executive speakers from universities on topics that included
Building a Best-In-Class Diversity Program; eProcurement in a
Smaller School Environment - How Did They Get There? and much more.
The presentations were all very well attended and provided guests
with an authentic look into the current and future states of higher
education procurement solutions. "We value the thought leadership
of Canon Solutions America's customer's procurement executives and
congratulate them on their leadership role amongst their peers and
on their speaking engagements throughout this event," added Ranft.
"This event is proof of the Enterprise Managed Services Division's
commitment to working with universities around the country to help
shape the managed print services higher education space."
