American Water CEO Discusses Key Issues Facing the Industry at WEFTEC 2015

Today Susan Story, President and CEO of American Water (NYSE:
AWK), the nation’s largest publicly traded water and wastewater
utility company, participated in two panels at WEFTEC 2015—the
Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) 88th annual technical
exhibition and conference.
Story joined other leaders in the Water Leaders Session, “The
Impact of Leadership: Culture, Communication, and Community in
Great Water Cities,” discussing lessons learned to help communities
improve resilience, livability and economic vitality. The panel
featured diverse experts who are driving transformational shifts in
water management -- effectively changing the cultural view of water
and improving public communication and engagement for a more
resilient and productive future.
Story also participated on the “Infrastructure Panel” and
discussed how the role of water and energy has raised the profile
of water infrastructure and the unique things American Water is
doing in that arena, including the smart water grid, geothermal and
other innovations.
