United Carpets Group plc ("the Company"), the second largest chain of specialist retail carpet and floor covering stores in the UK, was notified on 27 October 2015 that on 26 October 2015, due to a divestment of discretionary managed funds following the merger of Aviva plc and Friends Life Group Limited, Aviva plc no longer has a notifiable interest in the ordinary share capital of the Company.
