Donation Helps to Advance Respiratory Care Around the World

Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE:TFX), a leading global provider of medical devices for critical care and surgery, has announced that they have donated $10,000 to the American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF). The donation was the result of a photo challenge hosted by Teleflex during the 60th International Congress of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) held in December, 2014. Teleflex donated $10 to the ARCF for every attendee who participated in the photo booth challenge, up to $10,000 total.

“Teleflex is proud to partner with the Respiratory Therapy community to raise awareness and funds for the ARCF,” said James Ferguson, President, Respiratory Division, Teleflex. “This partnership illustrates our commitment to connecting clinicians and medical technology in a way that helps to advance patient care around the world.”

The ARCF is dedicated to promoting respiratory health through the support of research, education, and patient-focused philanthropic activities in respiratory care. The ARCF seeks to ensure a better, healthier future for all by promoting prevention, quality treatment and management of respiratory diseases. These funds will be donated on behalf of the ARCF to the International Council for Respiratory Care (ICRC) to deliver a six-day comprehensive Respiratory Care course intended for implementation outside of the United States, to enhance the care of respiratory patients around the world. The course will be offered under the auspices of the ICRC and the AARC.

“Governors representing 26 countries to the ICRC unanimously recognize the leadership role of Teleflex in its generous support of the long sought after goal of producing a high quality, global respiratory care training course," stated Jerome Sullivan, President, ICRC.

Teleflex is a corporate partner of the AARC and, through its Arrow®, LMA®, Hudson RCI® and Rusch® Brands, has a strong history of delivering purpose driven innovation to improve the health and quality of people’s lives.
