MILAN--Telecom Italia SpA (TI) said on Thursday it will list up to 40% of its telecom infrastructure subsidiary Infrastrutture Wireless Italiane SpA, or Inwit.

Inwit owns and operates wireless infrastructure and generates revenues from the lease of the space and services on such towers in particular to mobile telecom operators. It is fully owned by Telecom Italia.

The initial public offering needs the approval of Italian authorities. The company didn't say how much it will be worth.

In February, the company said its board had started a process to list its towers company.
