Nokia Corp. (NOK) has been awarded compensation by the
International Court of Arbitration after its decision in a patent
license case with Samsung Electronics Co. (005930.SE).
Nokia and Samsung had previously agreed that the arbitration
process would settle the amount of additional compensation payable
to Nokia for a five-year extension of their license agreement,
covering certain Nokia patents for the period starting Jan. 1,
2014.
Including this award, Nokia said Monday it expected its Nokia
Technologies unit to report net sales of approximately 400 million
euros ($433.9 million) in the fourth quarter 2015 and approximately
1.02 billion euros for the full year 2015.
