Honda Earnings Hammered By Recalls
Honda cut its full-year net profit forecast by 3.5% after being
hit by costs related to recalls over explosive air bags made by
Takata.
Valeant to Buy Prostate-Cancer Drug From Dendreon
Valeant Pharmaceuticals International said late Thursday it has
reached a tentative deal to buy the prostate-cancer drug Provenge
and other assets from Dendreon for $296 million in cash.
Google Reports Disappointing Revenue
The rising dollar claimed another victim as Google's revenue
grew slower than expected. The Mountain View, Calif., Internet
giant said 4Q revenue, excluding payments to other companies that
syndicate its ads, rose 17% to $14.5 billion in the year-ago
period, below estimates of $14.7 billion.
Amazon's Profit Drops Less Than Expected
Bucking tradition, the Seattle company posted
higher-than-expected net income in last year's final quarter,
despite sales growth below forecasts. Amazon typically has
satisfied investors with rapidly-growing sales and investments,
even at the expense of profits.
Canadian Oil Sands to Slash Dividend and Spending
Canadian Oil Sands said Thursday it would further slash its
dividend and capital spending budget in response to the sharp drop
in oil prices and a rising debt load.

offering priced well above expectations, netting the burger chain a
valuation of $745.5 million.
