Latest PoP will enable global Internet
backbone to meet the growing demand for high speed connectivity in
Europe
Hurricane Electric, the world’s largest IPv6-native Internet
backbone, has further extended its global network with the opening
of a new Point of Presence at Telenor Tier3 Data Center, located at
Omladinskih brigada 92, 11070 Belgrade, Serbia.
The Telenor Serbia facility is connected to multiple
international and national telecommunication networks, providing
both high quality Internet access to its clients as well as
substantial connections to international lines. Telenor’s facility
is one of the most advanced data centers in the SEE region, with
2.600m2 of space and full N+1 redundancy on all mechanical,
electrical and connectivity infrastructure.
Hurricane Electric’s newest Point of Presence will provide
customers of Telenor Serbia Data Center with access to Hurricane
Electric’s robust IPv4 and IPv6 network as well as increased
network capacity through 100GE (100 Gigabit Ethernet), 10GE (10
Gigabit Ethernet) and GigE (1 Gigabit Ethernet) ports. Customers of
Telenor also now have the opportunity to exchange IP traffic, or
“peer,” with Hurricane Electric’s expansive global network, which
is Jumbo Frame (9000 byte MTU) compatible.
“Thanks to the launch of our 28th Point of Presence in Europe,
Hurricane Electric is well-positioned to meet the prodigious demand
for high quality IP transit throughout the continent,” said Mike
Leber, President of Hurricane Electric. “Whether they’re using IPv4
or IPv6 connections, customers within Telenor Serbia's data center
now have direct access to global networks with lower latency and
improved fault tolerance. I am delighted that Hurricane Electric
can be a part of the tremendous IP growth in the SEE region.”
