been recognized by the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA), a
statewide non-profit group committed to high-value, integrated care
that improves quality and affordability for patients across
California and the nation.
Each year, IHA recognizes physician organizations earning 4.5
and 5-star ratings for the quality of care provided to their
Medicare Advantage (MA) beneficiaries. HealthCare Partners has
consistently received honors, including this year's star rating of
4.5 for 2017-18, which reflects care provided to MA patients in
2016.

Since 2008, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has
publicly reported the performance of MA health plans on a variety
of clinical quality, member experience and customer service
measures through a 5-star rating system. Medicare star ratings are
intended to support beneficiaries in understanding the quality of
health and drug plans, physicians, hospitals and other Medicare
providers.

subset of 12 clinical quality measures to award star ratings at the
physician organization level in California, including adult body mass index,
readmissions, breast and colorectal cancer screening, medication
adherence for hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis and cholesterol as
well as a variety of diabetes care measures.
