Faroe Petroleum Says Drilling Starts At Norwegian Sea Portrush Well

LONDON--Faroe Petroleum PLC (FPM.LN) said Wednesday that
drilling has started at the Portrush exploration well in the
Norwegian North Sea.
The well, which is 20% owned by Faroe, is located 10 kilometers
south east of the producing Statoil-operated Njord field, in which
Faroe has a 7.5% stake and 20km west of the Royal Dutch Shell
PLC-operated Draugen field.
AS Norske Shell is the well operator with a 40% stake. VNG Norge
AS and Petoro AS both have a 20% stake.
The company also said it will announce the drilling results from
the Boomerang well in Norway when drilling completes in
September.
