Demand for Medical Education for Industry’s Fastest Growing
Shoulder Replacement System
Exactech, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXAC), a developer and producer of bone
and joint restoration products for hip, knee, shoulder, spine and
biologic materials, announced today that it will conduct an
intercontinental medical education course in shoulder arthroplasty
to be held simultaneously in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Venice,
Italy, on April 3-4, 2014.
The program will include a broadcast of live surgery, panel
discussions and presentations on clinical outcomes, new
biomechanical insights and guidance on surgical techniques designed
for the experienced shoulder surgeon.
More than 100 surgeons will participate in programs conducted
simultaneously in Brazil and Italy. They will attend presentations
and interact with others at their respective venues, as well as
participating in presentations and discussions broadcast from each
location. A live shoulder surgery performed in Italy will also be
part of the international broadcast and discussion.
“The enthusiastic embrace of our last two masters courses and
the ever-increasing interest in our Equinoxe® shoulder system led
us to explore ways we can further broaden our reach to meet the
needs of shoulder surgeons around the globe,” said Darin Johnson,
VP of Marketing, Extremities & Hips.
“Surgeons thrive on learning from world renowned faculty from
diverse backgrounds and locations. This is an exciting new format
that allows surgeons to benefit from two outstanding programs and
faculty teams at once,” he said. “Exactech is known for our
innovation in implant and instrumentation design, so it only
follows that we would also leverage the latest technologies for our
medical education programs.”
The program addresses the strong demand for advanced medical
education in total shoulder arthroplasty, reverse shoulder
arthroplasty and trauma, and interest in the company’s Equinoxe
shoulder, which for several years has been the fastest growing
shoulder system in the industry.
