WASHINGTON, Aug. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Dick Gregory, 84, comedian, activist, author,
lecturer and world famous teacher, died tonight surrounded by the
members of his family, including his wife, Lillian. He was resting
comfortably at the Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington D.C. after a week which started
last Saturday when he was admitted interrupting a tour on the east
coast near his home in D.C.
"He was the one of the sweetest, smartest, most loving people
one could ever know," his publicist of 50 years, Steve Jaffe, said tonight. "I just hope that God
is ready for some outrageously funny times."
The family has asked for privacy tonight but will have a full
statement about arrangements for Gregory by tomorrow morning.
