LONDON--Private equity company 3i Group PLC (III.LN) said Monday
that it has appointed Simon Thompson, the current chairman of
Tullow Oil PLC,(TLW.LN), as its new non executive chairman.
Mr. Thompson will succeed Adrian Montague after the company's
annual meeting on June 25.
Mr. Montague is stepping down from the 3i board to concentrate
on his other appointments, including taking over the role of non
executive chairman at insurance company Aviva PLC (AV.LN).
The company also appointed Jonathan Asquith, a non executive
director, as its deputy chairman.
At 1015 GMT, shares of 3i were trading 0.6% lower at 507
pence.
