LONDON--Advertising giant WPP PLC (WPP.LN) said Monday J. Walter Thompson Company is buying a majority stake in Cleartag, an independent full service digital marketing consultancy in Lebanon and the UAE, for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 2000, Cleartag offers a broad range of digital consulting, user experience, advertising and campaign services. The agency employs around 65 people in Beirut and Dubai, WPP said.

Cleartag's unaudited revenue for the year ended Dec. 31, 2014 was $3.6 million and the company had gross assets of $1.5 million at the same date.
