SANTA CLARA, Calif.,
May 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/
-- Realtor.com®, a leading online real estate destination
operated by News Corp [NASDAQ: NWS, NWSA]; [ASX: NWS, NWSLV]
subsidiary Move, Inc., today introduced an extensive update to its
iOS app that matches how home buyers search for homes – on the go.
The enhanced realtor.com® app gives buyers quick and easy access to
the most accurate set of property listings by combining the search
features of the realtor.com® app with the popular user interface
and functionality of the realtor.com® Express app.
The new, highly intuitive interface immediately displays the map
view of the user's location and pins for all the homes for sale in
the surrounding area. Property details are organized into
expandable sections that display more details with a quick tap.
Buyers can view larger home photos and search for properties using
the iOS9 3D Flyover feature. They can also view local amenities
like restaurants, shops and financial institutions around each home
and share listings over numerous channels, including SMS, email,
Facebook, WhatsApp, Pinterest and Instagram – within the app.
"Simplifying our app experience gives buyers more on the go
access to the most accurate listings database available in the
industry," said Tapan Bhat, chief
product officer for realtor.com®. "The app's highly organized
design allows buyers to expand and minimize property details to
view what they are most interested in. We expect this to have a big
impact on how people find their dream home."
The new realtor.com® app combines the best of the Express app
and original realtor.com® app to offer home buyers a more
streamlined search functionality with access to all their favorite
property and search tools. Its consumer centric experience was
driven by user feedback. Buyers can click pins to see more
information about a listing or select the pencil to draw search
parameters on the map. To search for homes outside their immediate
area, consumers simply click the magnifying glass icon in the top
right corner. Listings can be filtered and searches can be saved
using the buttons at the bottom of the search results page.
To view details about a specific home, such as the property
description, square footage, or schools in the surrounding area,
users simply tap the photo of the home. Selecting the map icon
allows consumers to view the home on a map via 3D Flyover or
satellite view.

As part of the update the Express version of the realtor.com®
