CGI has bought Miami-based information-technology and business consulting firm Momentum Consulting, bolstering its position in what it considers a key U.S. growth market.

CGI said the addition of the Florida-approved vendor and minority-owned business will add more than 175 consultants and client relationships in retail, manufacturing, transportation and logistics.

Toronto- and New York-listed CGI has almost 13,000 consultants and professionals in the U.S. across 80 offices as part of a "metro market proximity model."
