UK Halifax house price index rose in April
In the UK, the Halifax house price index registered a rise of 1.40% on a MoM basis in April, compared to an advance of 1.10% in the prior month.
UK retail sales across all sectors climbed in April
In the UK, retail sales across all sectors jumped 39.60% on a YoY basis in April, compared to a rise of 20.30% in the previous month.
Euro-zone investor confidence index climbed in May
In the Euro-zone, the investor confidence index advanced to a level of 21.00 in May, compared to a reading of 13.10 in the previous month.
Japan’s household spending rose in March
In Japan, overall household spending registered a rise of 6.20% on a YoY basis in March, compared to a drop of 6.60% in the prior month.
China’s CPI rose less than expected in April
In China, the consumer price index (CPI) advanced 0.9% on a YoY basis in April, compared to a rise of 0.4% in the previous month. Markets were expecting the CPI to record an advance of 1.0%.
