Janesville Acoustics Moves Advanced Development Center to Detroit Area
January 22 2018 - 8:00AM
Janesville Acoustics, a division of Jason Industries Inc.
(NASDAQ:JASN) (NASDAQ:JASNW) and one of the largest producers of
acoustical fiber in North America, today announced the opening of
its new Advanced Development Center (ADC) in Farmington Hills,
Mich., 25 minutes outside of Detroit. Janesville moved the ADC to
Farmington Hills, Michigan from Milan, Ohio.
The new ADC is expected to strengthen the company’s innovation
and development of lightweight acoustical and fiber-based product
solutions for the automotive and other industries. The location is
close to Janesville’s corporate offices in Southfield and many of
its customers.
“Our new ADC facility brings our research and development and
prototype activities closer to our customers, suppliers, and our
commercial and technical staff in Detroit,” said Srivas Prasad,
Senior Vice President and General Manager. “We expect the new
facility will provide more opportunity for collaboration with our
customers and suppliers in order to develop market leading product
solutions.
“Our customers continue to look for light weight acoustical and
structural solutions, and by being close to them, we can better
understand their needs, rapidly build prototypes, and turnaround
multiple solution iterations. The increased growth in electric
vehicles will demand new acoustical solutions to support this
market growth. Being in the middle of the growth of this new
technology will allow us to respond more effectively.”
Located at 23028 Commerce Drive, the Farmington Hills site spans
approximately 25,000 square feet and will complement Janesville six
manufacturing facilities in North America. This location will be
responsible for benchmarking, prototyping, manufacturing
simulation, and the testing and validation of the company’s light
weight component products.
