ComEd Receives U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 2015 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Award

The ComEd Smart Ideas Energy Efficiency Program
recognized for a third time for its commitment to helping customers
save energy and money
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has announced ComEd has
been selected as a 2015 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year. This is
the third time the company has been recognized for its Smart Ideas
Energy Efficiency Program, which offers a suite of programs to help
residential and business customers save energy and money. Smart
Ideas has helped ComEd customers save more than $1 BILLION on their
electric bills and reduce their energy usage by more than 10.9
million megawatt-hours, enough to power more than one million homes
for a year.
Since the inception of the ComEd Smart Ideas Energy Efficiency
Program in 2008, the company’s highly successful suite of energy
efficiency programs has received 13 awards in total and now
receives its third Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award
for its continued leadership in protecting the environment through
energy efficiency efforts. The company was commended for its
continuous contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by
delivering information, services and products to ComEd customers to
increase energy efficiency. ComEd has delivered these comprehensive
customer solutions in a consistently cost effective manner and
exceeded its energy reduction goals under budget every program
year.

ComEd, along with sister Exelon utilities BGE, based in
Baltimore, and PECO, based in Philadelphia, will be honored for
their long-term commitment to energy efficiency at the EPA awards
ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 20, 2015.

broadening access to energy-saving approaches that grow the economy

Since its inception in 1992, ENERGY STAR and its partners have
helped prevent a total of more than two billion metric tons of
greenhouse gas emissions. In 2013 alone, ENERGY STAR and its
partners provided more than $11 billion in societal benefits due to
reducing damages from climate change.
