TORONTO, March 6, 2017 /CNW/ - On International Women's Day, March 8, Staples Canada will host a series of community events at stores across the country to recognize women making strides in business. Over 300 Staples store locations spread across 11 provinces have reached out to their respective communities to identify and showcase successful women in business or entrepreneurs who will share their stories with members of the community.

One of the signature events on the day will be a Q&A session on entrepreneurship between Mary Sagat, president of Staples Canada, and Nicole Verkindt, Next Gen Dragon and founder of OMX. The event will take place at the Staples location at 375 University Avenue in Toronto on March 8, from Noon to 1 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Staples Canada Facebook page.

"I'm proud to be part of a company that recognizes the important role women play as drivers of stronger communities and leaders in entrepreneurship," said Sagat. "We're delighted to have Nicole with us on this special day. She is an advocate of disruptive thinking, technology, innovation and women's roles in the work place. There is a lot that young entrepreneurs can stand to learn from her and her experiences."

Other events will be held at Staples locations on March 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will provide knowledge, opportunities and support for women looking to thrive in their own areas of business and entrepreneurship. Guests will have an opportunity to talk one-on-one with local women in business, network and forge long-standing relationships with other entrepreneurs from their community.

"Our company has a history of supporting entrepreneurs and local businesses. These events are meant to be opportunities where women in business can network with other like-minded individuals in their community," added Sagat.
