MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.,
Nov. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/
-- Omnicell, Inc. (NASDAQ:OMCL) today announced that The
Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), affiliated with the
University of Toronto, has selected the
Company's medication automation and safety solutions. Omnicell
technology is designed to help ensure the highest level of
medication security and safety, and reduce operational
inefficiencies in patient care. Omnicell technology is intended to
efficiently distribute, store and manage inventory of medications
throughout the hospital. SickKids will be installing automated
medication cabinets in the patient care areas and operating rooms,
as well as a system to manage controlled substances in the central

evaluation process that included on-site demos, visits to other
hospital facilities and meetings with stakeholders and hospital
leaders.
SickKids is a premier pediatric care center in Canada with a 285-bed facility dedicated to
continually improving care for children. The Omnicell systems
were developed to help enable nurses to save time on medication
management tasks, so they can spend more time interacting with
patients.
"In a facility of our size, we're constantly looking for ways to
streamline operations and workflows so more of our time can be
devoted to our patients," said Jimmy
Fung, director of pharmacy at SickKids. "We look forward to
implementing this technology in our facility."
"As we continue to expand our international presence, we're
pleased to add a pediatric hospital with such an impeccable
reputation to the Omnicell family," shared Chris Drew, executive vice president, Sales and
Marketing, Omnicell. "We are keen to support The Hospital for Sick
Children's mission to improve the health of children by providing
