Electricite de France SA (EDF.FR) said on Thursday that
discussions with France's nuclear safety regulator over quality
deviations on welds at a nuclear plant will continue for several
more weeks.
EDF added that a delay of several months to the startup of the
reactor was possible and that it was making preparations to
continue operating two reactors at the Fessenheim power station
until 2019.
In April, EDF said it had informed the French Nuclear Safety
Authority of quality deviations on some welds of the reactor's main
secondary system.
