STREET MOVES: Northern Trust Makes Four Hires For Northeast
February 09 2011 - 6:04PM
Dow Jones News
Northern Trust Corp. (NTRS) has added four professionals to its
staff in the northeastern United States.
John Lee and Maria Neary have joined the Chicago bank in its New
York office, and each will hold the title of senior vice president
and wealth manager. Lee was most recently a managing director for
Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in New York. Neary was previously
managing director of Geller Family Office Services in New York.
Northern Trust is investing in the heavily affluent Northeast, a
market saturated with competition among investment and wealth
managers. But Lee thinks the Midwest bank can make inroads in and
around the Eastern seaboard. Since the financial crisis, "there has
been upheaval in our business," Lee said in an interview. "The
opportunity in New York for Northern is very strong."
Northern also hired Brian Donovan, who will join the bank's
Connecticut office as a senior vice president and wealth manager.
Donovan was most recently a senior manager in Ernst & Young's
personal financial services group.
Marisa Facciolo has joined Northern's office in Delaware as a
vice president and wealth strategist. Facciolo most recently worked
as a vice president at Wilmington Trust Corp.'s (WL) wealth
advisory services division.
(STREET MOVES chronicles the migration of executives on Wall
Street, with a particular emphasis on financial advisers with more
than $1 million in annual production and who manage more than $100
million in client assets.)
