Dow Receives 100% Disclosure Score and Earns Disclosure
Leadership Status on the Climate Disclosure Project for the Third
Time.
The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) has been recognized
as a leader in climate change reporting and disclosure by CDP, the
international not-for-profit that works to transform the way the
world does business to prevent climate change and protect our
natural resources. Dow earned the highest possible disclosure score
of 100 percent. Dow has been selected to the S&P 500 Climate
Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) in 2015, which recognizes only
the top 10 percent of companies reporting for disclosure of
high-quality carbon emissions and energy data.
“At Dow, we are committed to leading the transition to a
sustainable energy future, and the 2015 CDP score is one more step
along our journey,” said Seth Roberts, global energy director for
Dow. “The future of energy will require businesses to make the most
efficient use of available energy resources – including
cost-effective, clean energy alternatives, and our strategy is to
find win-win solutions that are good for the environment and good
for business.”
Climate change reporting is increasingly becoming a priority for
external stakeholders, resulting in thousands of companies
submitting annual climate disclosures to CDP. Top scores indicate a
high level of transparency in the disclosure of climate
change-related information, providing investors with a level of
comfort to assess corporate accountability and preparedness for
changing market demands and emissions regulation.
“As the world looks beyond the Paris climate change negotiations
and prepares for a low carbon future, reliable information about
how companies are responding to the transition will be ever more
valuable. For this reason we congratulate those businesses that
have achieved a position on CDP’s Climate Disclosure Leadership
Index,” said Paul Dickinson, executive chairman and co-found of
CDP.
The recognition is directly aligned with Dow’s 2025
Sustainability Goals, whereby the Company seeks to advance the
well-being of humanity by helping lead the transition to a
sustainable planet and society. As part of the World-Leading
Operations Performance Goal, Dow seeks to achieve the following by
2025: maintain absolute greenhouse gas emissions below our 2006
baseline; obtain 400 megawatts (MW) of power from renewable
sources; and ensure our trajectory for absolute emissions from
operations and purchased power meet internationally recognized
targets for a 2° maximum global temperature rise.

quarterly reports, as well as details on the 2025 Goals – can be
