LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Hundreds of guests and employees gathered Saturday to celebrate business management, tax and audit firm Tanner Mainstain Glynn & Johnson's 40 years of growth.

What started as a small practice built around two up-and-coming TV writers, Jay Tarses and Tom Patchett, has evolved into an entertainment industry powerhouse with clients like Michael Keaton, Jackie Chan and Manny Pacquiao. Guests who attended the two floors of festivities at the firm's Wilshire Boulevard office building walked the red carpet, drank champagne, danced and cheered the firm's founders and partners, who gave speeches thanking their clients and many tireless, long-serving employees.

"This is just the beginning," Bill Tanner told the crowd as he recalled casually bumping into business acquaintance and soon-to-be-partner Peter Mainstain 40 years ago on an afternoon walk on Wilshire Boulevard. He said it was Mainstain who "built the firm, did the hiring and figured everything out."

Mainstain said he was "overwhelmed to see so many old friends and clients" and that their "great staff are what make our firm special." He later added that, since the '70s, the firm has remained effective by staying aware of new trends in the entertainment industry. The firm was recently the main focus of a special issue in Variety about business management stars.

Unlike most firms, Tanner Mainstain Glynn & Johnson (TMGJ) assigns two partners to each account. "It's a younger partner with an older partner, so clients get exposed to well-developed professionals at all levels of the firm, and feel confident that a CPA with a technological business approach is present at all times," Tanner told Variety.

TMGJ has kept the firm well-stocked with new blood. Partners Michael Glynn, Bradley Johnson, Thomas Fouladi, and Robert Harrison joined TMGJ in 1987, 1990, 1991, and 2007, respectively.
