                       NIKANOR - NOTIFICATION OF INTEREST

Nikanor plc ("Nikanor") received notification from Cosaf Limited ("Cosaf") and
from Oakey Invest Holdings Inc. ("Oakey") on 30 October 2007 that Cosaf had
become interested in 7,500,000 ordinary shares in Nikanor transferred to it by
Oakey.

Following the above transfer, the interest of Oakey and related parties in
Nikanor is now 47,370,283 shares representing 22.93% of Nikanor's issued share
capital. Cosaf's interest in Nikanor is now 32,945,713 shares representing
15.95% of Nikanor's issued share capital of which 8,445,713 shares are held
directly and the remaining 24,500,000 are held by Cosaf as bare trustees for New
Horizon Minerals Ltd ("New Horizon"), its wholly owned subsidiary. Entities
managed by RP Capital Limited ("RPC") are interested in, in aggregate,
57,945,913 shares (28.05%), including 24,500,000 (11.86%) held by New Horizon,
8,445,713 (4.09%) held directly by Cosaf, and 25,000,000 (12.10%) held by
Ruwenzori Limited ("Ruwenzori").

Nikanor is a mining group which owns assets in the heart of the African
copperbelt in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  The group's key mine is KOV,
containing one of the world's largest high quality copper and cobalt ore bodies.
Nikanor is rehabilitating this proven and well documented brownfield site and
building a major state of the art refining plant to produce 250,000 tonnes per
year of LME A-grade copper cathode and 27,500 tonnes per year of cobalt
products.

Nikanor was admitted to the London Stock Exchange (AIM) on 17 July 2006.
