                Maverick Entertainment Group plc ("the Company")

                                    Placing

Maverick Entertainment Group plc, the AIM listed company specialising in the
creation, acquisition and development of IPR in children's films, television
programmes, characters and related entertainment products, is pleased to
announce that it has raised #240,000 (before expenses) through a placing of
160,000,000 new ordinary shares at 0.15p per share ("Placing Shares"). This will
provide the Company with additional working capital.

Application has today been made for the admission of the Placing Shares to
trading on AIM. The shares will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary
shares of the Company. Dealings in the Placing Shares are expected to commence
on 3 August 2006.
