LONDON--BT Group PLC (BT.A.LN) Monday named Clive Selley as the new chief executive of its network division Openreach.

The telecommunications firm said Mr. Selley, who is currently CEO of BT Technology, Service and Operations will replace Joe Garner.

In November last year BT announced that Mr. Garner will be stepping down as chief executive of Openreach to become CEO of financial services group Nationwide. He is expected to take up his new post in the spring of 2016 after handing over to his successor, BT said.

The handover will take place this quarter, BT said Monday.

BT shares at 0935 GMT were down 1 pence, or 0.1%, at 465 pence, valuing the company at GBP39.9 billion.
