JFBC Jeffersonville Bancorp (QB)

Jeffersonville Bancorp, Inc. (OTCQB:JFBC) announced today third quarter net income of $1,105,000 or $0.26 per share compared to $1,155,000 or $0.27 per share for the same quarter in 2011. The decrease in quarterly net income was primarily due to a decrease in interest income of $391,000 and an increase in non-interest expense of $75,000, partially offset by a decrease in interest expense of $260,000 and a decrease in the provision for loan losses of $200,000.

For the nine months ended September 30, 2012, the Company earned net income of $3,285,000 or $0.78 per share, an increase of $451,000 or 15.9% compared to $2,834,000 or $0.67 per share for the same period in 2011. This overall increase was primarily due to a $746,000 decrease in interest expense and a $284,000 decrease in non-interest expense partially offset by a decrease of $561,000 in loan interest and fees and a $189,000 increase in income tax expense.

A cash dividend in the amount of thirteen cents ($0.13) per share on the common stock of the company was declared at November 13, 2012 meeting of the Board of Directors. The dividend is payable on December 3, 2012 to stockholders of record at the close of business on November 26, 2012.
