Underground Mine and would be restart, per filing April 3
Just like I have posted.
WINNEMUCCA, NV, April 3, 2024 – Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation (Nasdaq: HYMC) (“Hycroft” or “the Company”) is pleased to provide an
update for the ongoing 2024 exploration drill program.
The 2024 Brimstone and Vortex drilling is well underway with assays pending on the initial drill holes. This 10-hole program, launched in February 2024, is
targeting the two high-grade underground silver trends discovered in November 2023 (see news release dated November 16, 2023 “Hycroft Drills Best Hole
Ever - Discovers New High-Grade Silver System”). Due to the exciting results achieved, this drill program was launched in February 2024 and will continue
through May 2024 with flexibility to expand the program. The drilling is targeting confirmation of the continuity of the high-grade silver mineralization
between the Vortex-Brimstone trend and the Vortex-Camel trend, expanding both trends along strike and at depth, and enhancing our understanding of
structural controls.
Alex Davidson, Vice President, Exploration, commented “The paradigm is shifting with our understanding of what is controlling the high-grade mineralization
within the expansive Hycroft system. This new understanding of low-angle structural controls has far-reaching implications for the broader district-scale
targets, as well as the high-grade silver discoveries. This has been confirmed through drill data and recent geophysics. This work supports the idea of a
potential underground starter mine at Hycroft, which would contribute to more robust economics and lower initial capital costs generating better value for our
shareholders.”
Mr. Davidson also commented: “The Vortex-Brimstone trend is a series of well-defined high-grade veins that remains open in both directions and at depth. The
Vortex-Camel trend is a structurally controlled system that has become more apparent as we continue our work that also remains open in both directions and at
depth.”
Diane R. Garrett, President and CEO stated: “The exploration and on-going technical work at Hycroft is solidifying our belief that the potential of this asset has
yet to be fully understood. Through our work and on-going communications and marketing to the investing public, our story is resonating positively and we are
pleased to see that reflected in the recent performance of our share price.
“Not only does our team continue to deliver incredibly strong exploration results, fueling this project forward, but they also continue to demonstrate a
commitment to health and safety at site continuing to maintain a 0.00 TRIFR

Don't believe the bull shite...links and information is all current, unlike some who constantly post fake photos and false prophecies. No permits for roasting. No mining fleet, no process plant...years and years away.
Technical studies
Talking about the 2021 decision to discontinue mining, Garrett said that since the beginning of operations Hycroft was processing oxide ore on leach pads, but the mine was running out of oxide ore in 2021 and it was time to transition to sulfide ore, but the studies of how to process the mine’s sulfide ore had not been completed yet.
“Unfortunately, the work had not been done for the sulfide milling operation,” Garrett said. “In mining, you typically complete your oxide heap leach material and transition directly into your sulfide milling material. You don’t have a cease of operations in between. But because this company sat private for several years and because we came in three years ago realizing that this work was not completed, unfortunately the operation shut down because it was losing millions per year and that wasn’t good for our shareholders.”
“We are designing the flow sheet now, and we will button up those technical studies this year,” Garrett said.
She said they are looking at several options for processing the sulfide ore, including pressure oxidation and autoclaving, and also roasting.
Roasting could be an attractive option, Garrett said, because it produces a significant amount of sulfuric acid, and there are currently several lithium mines being developed in Nevada which will need sulfuric acid to process their lithium ore.
“So we think there are some added green benefits along with some additional benefits for going with roasting, but we’re doing those trade off studies right now.”
Garrett said there might be opportunities for using an idle roaster in Nevada.
“It would be ideal if we could ship our ore to an existing roaster on somebody else’s property versus building our own. But those are the alternatives analyses that we are doing right now as part of the technical studies.”
Going underground
Along with doing technical studies on how to process the sulfide ore, exploration is continuing to gain a better understanding of the site and the newly discovered high-grade underground deposit in order to decide on the best route to take when mining resumes. Hycroft is a large open pit mine, and one option would be to continue to grow the open pit and process the low-grade ore as they work their way down to the high-grade ore. Another option, which Garrett said probably makes more sense, would be to develop an underground mine for the first time at Hycroft in order to quickly get to the high-grade ore.
Garrett said they need to see how big the underground high-grade resource is and which direction it’s going, and then they can build their mine plan.
If they do start out continuing to mine the lower-grade ore from the open pit, then they would build a large mill, which might process around 60,000 tons of ore a day. If they start out with going underground to the high-grade ore, then they could build a smaller mill, which might process around 3,000 tons a day. That mill would take less time to build, which would allow them to get back into operation more quickly. That would bring in cash flow, and later on they could expand the mill for when they go back to mining the lower-grade ore closer to the surface.
Once the mining and technical decisions are made, it will take time to build the custom-designed mill for the mine.
“Right now the lead times for getting in some of this equipment are a year and a half,” Garrett said. “So the time to get those in, and then a year and a half of construction, you’re easily looking somewhere between the three and five-year time frame, depending on whether you go with a smaller, higher grade underground mine, or whether you go with the large open pit first.
“In any case, the plan is to mine all of it, and have a very long mine life.”

Garrett said that most projects and mines are at one point on this curve, but Hycroft is in the exploration phase and at the same time it is progressing through the engineering phase as the company gears up to resume mining.
Hycroft has several advantages over many mining projects which are in the exploration or engineering phases, Garrett said. Hycroft already has some of its permits in hand, the mine has substantial infrastructure in place, and the company is near the completion of technical studies for the next phase of operations.
The infrastructure at Hycroft includes geology and engineering buildings, a fully operational lab, truck shops, crushers, and a new leach pad. Garrett said that building all of this infrastructure at today’s prices would probably cost well over a billion dollars and would take years. She said they are keeping all this infrastructure maintained and ready to go into action when mining resumes.
Today Hycroft is fully permitted according to CEO, above and below ground with a reconstructed advanced water supply system from over a year ago.
The portion below was posted in website presentation and filings going on 3 years ago. I even have it posted in the sticky from 2021. Everything Diane said from 3 years ago is posted below. The entire article is a cut and paste history as it's labeled. Hycroft Mine is much further along than old data explains. We are nearly 4 years into a 3 to 5 year plan already. New conveyor system with newly installed 345KV power supply and towers fully constructed and in place.

Can't mine what you can't process...3-5 years is very, very optimistic given permitting constraints for roasting. Smart money would wait to see the PFS/FS and check their financials. Let's see how our favorite cheerleader spins this...
