The NAV of GAZ is now only $1.99... due to cotango we can see it drop to just a few cents in a few years.

The best way to invest in nat gas and avoid the cotango is to buy a gas corporation. The cotango can create situations where nat gas rises and UNG/GAZ still lose.

Wow! That's what I call a bold statement. Are you suggesting GAZ is actually a fraudulent scheme and not just a currently overbought ETF? What about the underlying assets of this ETF, and what would be the scenario under which it would go to zero? Your prediction seems even more extreme when one considers your post script, "not kidding". I think you actually are kidding around, but I would be very interested in any support you can provide for your prognostication.

Of course, I have never indicated whether I have or ever had a position, but your warnings were indeed timely. The Street.com came out with an article this morning basically supporting your concerns about the NAV issue, and it may have contributed to the steep decline today. On the other hand, maybe more people read this board than we know! In any case, thanks for the early warning.

both GAZ and TVIX are being manipulated, if you look at the biggest holders there are many coincidences there even though they are very distinct vehicles.

when the manipulators decide to remove the plug (or iPath or the SEC does it for them) both can colapse 50% in minutes

I actually enjoyed our aggressive banter, but it makes the IH administrators nervous. Your points are well taken, and I certainly respect your factual warnings about this very important NAV issue with GAZ. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your perspective, highly speculative investments frequently follow an irrational path - up or down. I have little doubt you're sincere in presenting the facts about GAZ, but the NAV issue has been known for some time, and GAZ has still performed well over the last few months. Honestly, I'm as mystified as you, but the uptrend is a fact as much as any other, and while I acknowledge it may crash and burn at any moment, I can't help wondering why GAZ holds up in the face of such well known negative information. Perhaps it is nothing more than investor gullibility, but I'm not ready to accept that as a full and complete explanation at this point.

I thought it would be good to note the GENERAL downturn in the markets today, just in case someone got the impression the decline was limited to GAZ. Nothing more; nothing less.

Since you can believe everything you read on internet message boards and all poster's motives are exactly what they are purported to be, there is little doubt what the average investor should do with respect to GAZ. (LOL)

So whats the deal with this fund? I here nothing but bad press on every message board. However I can find no proof that this is a fraudulent operation or fund. Ipath is pretty reputable.

Knowing my investing expertise, I would probably buy it at $250, sell at $100, and try to make up the difference on volume.(LOL)

why would anyone buy GAZ for $6 when its underlying assets are worth $2.5 at current natural gas market prices ? you are better off buying UNG or the futures contracts directly.

Lets say you are bullish oil... you think its going
to $200 and its now trading at $100...

Would you buy it at $150 ? Or at $100 ?

Because that is that you are doing... you are buying Natural Gas above market price.
