Fire at Port of Oakland Extinguished, Originating in Lithium Battery Storage Facility

The Port of Oakland was shrouded in a blanket of dark smoke after a fire broke out Sunday afternoon, sending alarm through the Bay Area community. According to SFGate, the blaze ignited in a facility housing lithium batteries on Seventh Street and was effectively snuffed out by 4:30 p.m., following efforts by the Oakland Fire Department.
Not a battery storage facility but a shipping container storing lithium batteries at port. Better this happened there than on a ship! Another spontaneous fire during the weekends major Geostorm.

https://hoodline.com/2024/05/fire-at-port-of-oakland-extinguished-originating-in-lithium-battery-storage-facility/

========================================

How does EMF cause lithium batteries to experience thermal runaway and thus spontaneously combust? One of two main ways:

#1 - Overcharge/Discharge

With various impressed external magnetic field intensities an effect was noticed on the charge and discharge curves as well as the charge and mass concentrations within the batteries. With the two-dimensional model starting from 0mT and going to 1mT had the effect of discharging the battery faster and charging the battery faster. With the two-dimensional model starting from 1mT and going to -1mT had the effect of charging the battery faster. In either case an effect on the various characteristics of the battery were studied. With the experiments conducted on the two types of batteries the effect was more profound than subtle. Discharge times were twice as fast and charge times were equally
affected. With the smaller batteries they all generally charged faster under the presence of a magnetic field due to more uniform penetration. In the presence of the field they also discharged faster. The larger batteries would not see the same uniform penetration because only a small area of the battery sees the center of the coil it is placed on

In this dissertation, they found that external magnetic fields significantly increased charge and discharge rates in individual lithium battery cells; like shown in the following image. They also found that smaller batteries were impacted to a greater degree than larger ones. This is likely a reason Tesla is switching to larger battery cells in addition to employing magnetic attenuating honeycomb sandwich battery pack.

Thermal Runaway of Lithium-Ion Batteries Triggered by Electromagnetic Interference

https://ars.els-cdn.com/content/image/1-s2.0-S0378775320302172-fx1_lrg.jpg

#2 - Stimulation of Dendrite Growth

Thermoelectric current causes asymmetric growth pattern of dendrites.
thermoelectromagnetic convection occurs in the vicinity of the solid-liquid interface, and vortices are generated between dendritic arms. It is shown that the thermoelectromagnetic convection has a major influence on dendritic morphology.

Tesla Cybertruck Peeled Open Like A Can Of Sardines After Crashing Into A Ditch

Another Tesla Cybertruck has been involved in a serious accident, this time with dramatic consequences

https://www.carscoops.com/wp-content/uploads/webp/2024/05/Cybertruck-crash-ditch-copy-1536x892.webp

This Cybertruck got DESTROYED!!! 🫣

If the story is to be believed, this truck went off the road into a ditch, and went onto its right side, ripping off the door steel.

This truck went around the internet a bit on Saturday seen in the ditch, but these pictures show the rest of… pic.twitter.com/lkbqBNLPMQ
Looks like even the Cybertruck couldnt resist the major geostorm over the weekend if this indeed happened Saturday. Was this a SUA & veering event? Theres no details on how the Cybertruck ended up in this pond. This would make 3 Teslas that seemingly went out of control over the weekend during the major Geostorm and one more that spontaneously combusted. As i said these events do not always show up within 12-24hr period sometimes coming weeks later. The incidents i collect are only the ones that manage to get published and are mostly in the US. Meaning there are more accidents then what i post on TSLA forum about Teslas that go 'Maximum Overdrive' on their occupants.

The computer errors from outer space

When computers go wrong, we tend to assume it's just some software hiccup, a bit of bad programming. But ionising radiation, including rays of protons blasted towards us by the sun, can also be the cause. These incidents, called single-event upsets, are rare and it can be impossible to be sure that cosmic rays were involved in a specific malfunction because they leave no trace behind them.

And yet they have been singled out as the possible culprits behind numerous extraordinary cases of computer failure. From a vote-counting machine that added thousands of non-existent votes to a candidate's tally, to a commercial airliner that suddenly dropped hundreds of feet mid-flight, injuring dozens of passengers
Plus, since giant ejections from the sun can sometimes send huge waves of particles towards Earth, what's called space weather, an unnerving prospect looms: we could see much more disruption to computers than we're used to during a massive geomagnetic storm in the future

Hutchison Effect & Teslas Whompy Wheel issue

Jain is one of tens of thousands of Tesla owners who have experienced premature failures of suspension or steering parts, according to a Reuters review of thousands of Tesla documents. The chronic failures, many in relatively new vehicles, date back at least seven years and stretch across Tesla’s model lineup and across the globe, from China to the United States to Europe, according to the records and interviews with more than 20 customers and nine former Tesla managers or service technicians.

https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/tesla-musk-steering-suspension/

The exact cause of the Hutchison Effect is unknown in public spheres as it is classified under national security. However the most likely culprit seems to be a combination of electromagnetic sources coming together in a way to change the makeup of metals leading to their rusting, softening, fracturing, complete breaking, even dustification. Keep in mind the degree of metal materials that are within our buildings and infrastructure...even in concrete. Maybe this is why we are seeing an increase in building and bridge collapses?

This should be good for Tesla?

How low could LFP costs go?

There are countless ways cost reduction can be achieved within gigafactories, ranging from procurement, cell design and local price reductions. Here we explore 3 of them: a reduction in cathode active material (CAM) price due to LFP oversupply, halving of electricity/gas pricing due to local subsidies, and halving the workers required via increased factory optimisation.

Procuring cost-effective CAM is critical to reducing the cost of the cell. In the base case LFP CAM price is $8.5/kg, reducing to $6.2/kg in the optimised case, resulting in savings of almost $5/kWh. Short-term savings to this extent are feasible due to the oversupply of Chinese LFP which suppliers have been attempting to offload at severely discounted prices.

Tesla crashes into EV charging station in Alton
No injuries in Tesla rollover crash at Alton's Argosy Casin

Preliminary investigation revealed a Tesla Model S was traveling at a high rate of speed and struck the electric vehicle charging station causing significant damage to said vehicle and the charging station. No injuries were reported.

The driver was cited for reckless driving, improper lane usage, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Another Tesla seems to have suffered a SUA event and veered into a charging station before rolling over during the major geostorm over the weekend. So far that seems two SUA events that lead to crashes and 1 spontaneous fire.

Not interested in your opinion. Elon is a class a Liar and con man. He already proved that many times already. This is not a question of if he lies, it is a question of how many lies he told how many shareholders lost money because of his deliberate false information he put out there to pump the stock, take the profits and leave the many investors shafted. The list is long and the honest people know what I am talking about. I don't need to listen to Lemmings, Parrots, and people with absolutely no common sense when it comes to living their whole existence based on what BS Elon feeds them next.

More Information Emerges About Saturday’s Car Crash That Killed 3, Critically Injured 3

The tragic incident unfolded at approximately 2:38 a.m. when a Tesla Model 3 veered off the road and slammed into an unoccupied building in the 2300 block of Foothill Boulevard at Vista Ave., according to Pasadena Police Lt. Anthony Russo.

The Tesla, carrying six occupants westbound, was traveling at least double the speed limit when the driver ran a red light and lost control, police told told local tv news.
Anyone that has seen video of an out of control Tesla will realize thats what this appears to be. In fact, heres a video of a similar incident. Except this Tesla was being parked when it suddenly took off. The driver, a professional truck driver, tried repeatedly to apply the brakes (photo evidence of brakes lights). The driver even tried to apply Tesla's ebrake repeatedly with no luck. He eventually crashed the Tesla to stop it. Tesla China confirmed that that driver did indeed press the ebrake or park button 4 times.

https://youtu.be/6Kf3I_OyDlI

In an interview, the driver of this Tesla claims the brakes would not respond and that he tried to use the emergency brake while speeding out of control.

In an interview with local news outlet Dahe Daily, the 55-year-old driver, Zhan, who said he was a former truck driver, said he tried pressing the brake pedal and the emergency parking brake button, but with no effect
This picture clearly shows brake lights on. I wonder if this was one of the times Mr Zhan tried to engage the ebrake?

https://s1.cdn.autoevolution.com/images/news/gallery/what-made-a-tesla-model-y-speed-up-for-26-km-until-killing-two-people-in-china_5.jpg

Tesla China released the following information confirming that Mr. Zhan did indeed apply the emergency brake but data doesnt show he applied the brake. Take note that ebrake application also failed to slow this Tesla down.

Tesla China denied the family member’s claims, noting that data from the ill-fated Model Y showed that the accelerator pedal was depressed deeply during the incident. Tesla stated that the Park button was indeed pressed during the vehicle’s final drive four times, but only briefly. Previous tests from Tesla owners indicated that pressing Park for an extended period of time while the vehicle is in motion would stop the car
The data shows the accelerator pressed yet the driver says they applied the brakes and ebrake, with the ebrake part being confirmed. So if the driver applied the ebrake you have to ask youself why would he lie about also applying the brakes? If he applied the brakes as well as the ebrake like claimed, that means you cannot trust the data from Teslas data recorder. Why? Because the data the recorder records reflects what the car actually does and not necessarily what the driver tells it to do. In fact this is part of a recent submission to the NHTSA by Dr. Belt.

New information received by the NHTSA shows that sudden unintended acceleration events with Tesla EVs were real and not driver errors. The report explains in detail what caused the cars to accelerate even when the accelerator pedal was not pressed.
What's worse is that the incorrectly increased sensor signals will be sent via the CAN bus to the vehicle logs, causing Tesla and NHTSA to conclude that the driver caused the sudden increase in torque by stepping on the accelerator pedal. But in this case, the sudden acceleration was caused not by the driver stepping on the accelerator pedal but by a random superposition of a negative-going voltage spike (which is about 100 microseconds long), and the sampling time of the analog-to-digital converter (which is about 10 microseconds long). This random superposition explains the low occurrence rate of sudden acceleration in Tesla vehicles

UTA service delayed after TRAX train gets derailed in West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A Utah Transit Authority TRAX train was derailed Sunday afternoon in West Valley City, causing disruptions along the Green Line.
According to UTA spokesman Carl Arky, the train car that went off the rails was the last in a group of four, heading south. The first three had no issues, but the fourth somehow got derailed and then hit a power pole. There were passengers in the front three cars, but none in the fourth. Nobody was injured.
Looks like the Hutchison Effect caused a fracture in the rail line which after the first three cars went over caused enough of a misalignment for the forth train car to derail.
There was also a large earthquake in Mexico. Seems like we are finally starting to see some of the aftermath of Fridays significant Geostorm which is still oscillating.

in my humble opinion, there is reason for EVERY ONE of Elon’s recent decisions.

1 He called our Reuterz even though he knew that there was some basis for the story

2. The story was incomplete. What happened was that some of the attendees DID speak to Reuters and told them yhat Tesla was going to focus on the Robotaxi. We knew already that the ONLY reason he went along with simultaneous development was that Franz convinced him that it was basically the same car. Perhaps they hit a point in the design process where priorities had to be assigned, and Elon made the choice, that he knows is right: robotaxi first. you may well wonder why he does not want a cheaper Tesla. My answer is: i trust Elon’s gut much more than yours.

3. of you do not see the obvious impact on supercharging, I cannot help you. BUT what if he got surprisingly strong pushback from the entire team? You and U may have teacted a
little differemtly than Elom; but, hey, he is entitled to make the decision he did; the worst consequence is that some of the laid off people will be hard to bring back, and some of thsm wiuld not go back. BUT just remember thatthrgraveyards are full of indispensable people.

Folks, I know that was a long post. bowever, every word in it was crefully thought out, you can agree with my point if view or not. Frankly, I couldn’t care less. However, let me make myne thing abundantly clear. if you wsnt me to tespond, your child mment needs the be well thought out and well presented.

George Orwell's 1984 comes to real-life after a building collapses in Russia. Russia accuses Ukraine of attacking this one part of residential buildings in the area, which is a stretch in of itself, and Ukraine denies. Meanwhile the greater public is left in confusion about what really happened. This is one basic concept from Orwells 1984 in action. I think its surprising they havent adapted 1984 into a TV series but it could clue people in that some of what happens in the whole Russia vs Ukraine war is propaganda to distract from abnormal events like this.

The Russian Ministry of Defense accuses Ukraine of a “terrorist attack” in Belgorod, while the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation suggests an internal explosion.

In its statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the “Kyiv regime” carried out a “terrorist attack” on the residential quarters of Belgorod around 11:40. According to the report, the Ukrainian troops allegedly used the Tochka-U tactical missile system, the Vilha multiple-launch rocket systems, and the RM-70 Vampire for this purpose.

However, videos posted on social media showcased that the building was not hit by debris, shells, or rockets. An explosion can be seen from the inside on the first floor or in the basement.

Given this building seemingly collapsed on its own and was not attacked by Ukraine, im going to suggest that what happened was a result of Hutchison Effect in action. As far as any explosions, Hutchison Effect/EM radiation could have caused gas pipelines to burst, transformer in the basement to explode, or simply cause the building's metal structure to weaken enough to collapse and the collapse itself caused the explosions people heard. What gives further credence to the idea the Hutchison Effect was involved here was the fact that there was a major geomagnetic storm that occurred starting Friday. I said before it hit to keep an eye out for various things like building collapses and out of control Teslas.
As best as i can figure, natural EM radiation possibly combining with man-made sources leads to the Hutchison Effect in Metals. This can cause metal to bend without heat, burst, fracture, completely break, rust, and even turn to dust. The exact mechanism that are involved is not known in public circles as the information is classified. The only reason we (the public) know anything about it is John Hutchison whom the effect is named after.
The Hutchison Effect is why Teslas and other EVs experience enhanced corrosion issues leading to increased rusting of the underbelly and spontaneous fracturing of suspension components. Tesla's are well known for this problem including the phenomenon called Whompy Wheel. There is a ceramic coating placed on the underbelly of EVs and ICE vehicles to help prevent these types of things, however the coating seems to wear quickly. As the earths magnetic field weakens we will see more of the Hutchison Effect and so ceramics will become more and more important. In fact there is a company in California working on Ceramic dome buildings which supposedly will last 500 years. This will be important.
Another phenomena of the Hutchison Effect, the melding of dissimilar materials like what occurred on 911. It does send a message but not what the title suggests. Instead it sends a message that 9/11 was an inside job so the US could leave the 1972 Anti-Ballisitic Treaty (this is fact, December 13th, 2001 Bush sent a letter to Putin stating that 911 was the reason it was leaving the treaty).

Too many of these country numbers are showing negative compared to previous April and last three months.
Together with the unplanned Berlin shutdown will be more pressure on the SP.

$140 is likely $110 possible IMHO.

Cannot catch a break but really should have model 2 shipping by now.

Containers with special batteries for wind turbines are on fire – exploding lithium cells endanger fire fighting teams (on tape)
Population is warned of possible danger from escaping gases – there are always minor explosions

Date: Saturday 27. April 2024, 9 p.m.

Location: Moormerland, Leer district, Lower Saxony

(sg) A large container loaded with lithium batteries has caught fire in Neermoor. The container served as a buffer for a manufacturer of wind turbines. The incident occurred this morning and resulted in an extensive deployment of the fire brigade.
I missed this fire two weeks ago. This storage fire occurred after a crack in the earths magnetic field opened on April 26th which i suspect was caused by a passing CME that may have skimmed/pulled on earths magnetic field to open the crack. Two firefighters were injured tending to the fire according to a firefighters youtube coverage of the event.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JM4ifQnIm2Q

You can see evidence of the crack and the passing CME here. You need to change the date range to go back 30 days. On April 26th you'll see magnetic field in purple for an extended time which indicates a crack. You'll also see a spike in Solar wind & solar wind temperature indicative of a passing CME. Usually a direct hit causes an immediate spike, like a stock gapping up, instead of a gradual climb.
https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/real-time-solar-wind

I go into how EMF causes thermal runaway in lithium batteries in the following information.

========================================

This is likely a reason Tesla is switching to larger battery cells in addition to employing magnetic attenuating honeycomb sandwich battery pack.

https://ars.els-cdn.com/content/image/1-s2.0-S0378775320302172-fx1_lrg.jpg

#2 - Stimulation of Dendrite Growth

Thermoelectric current causes asymmetric growth pattern of dendrites.
thermoelectromagnetic convection occurs in the vicinity of the solid-liquid interface, and vortices are generated between dendritic arms. It is shown that the thermoelectromagnetic convection has a major influence on dendritic morphology.

2 displaced after minivan, electric car catch fire in Wake County home’s garage

Two people were displaced after an electric car was among two vehicles that caught fire in a Wake County home’s garage Saturday afternoon.

The fire was reported just after 5:35 p.m. at a large home in the 3100 block of Umstead View Drive, according to Raleigh Fire Department officials.
It’s unclear what caused the fire but a Tesla electric vehicle burned during the garage fire.

RECREATING THE “STUCK THROTTLE” PROBLEM ON A TOYOTA

While most passenger vehicles older than about 15-20 years controlled the throttle with a cable connected directly from the throttle body to the accelerator pedal, most manufacturers have switched to a fly-by-wire system which takes sensor input from the accelerator pedal and sends that position information to the vehicle’s computer which in turn adjusts the throttle position. This might be slightly cheaper to manufacture, but introduces a much larger number of failure modes to a critical system.

[Colin] is recreating one of those failure modes by introducing an electromagnetic pulse at a specific point on the vehicle’s computer. In the real world, this could be caused by certain forms of EMF potentially including cosmic rays. This introduces a memory fault which the computer doesn’t seem capable of recognizing or clearing. With the right set of circumstances that [Colin] can reliably produce, the computer eventually will drive the throttle fully open, and the condition can only be corrected by power-cycling the vehicle’s computer.

Electric lawnmower isnt likely to go all 'Maximum Overdrive' on you like the movie as it lacks the computer tech needed for things like bit flips. No it's more likely to catch on fire and burn wherever you store it along with it due to EM radiation causing the lithium batteries to spontaneously combust.

Teslas are just computers on wheels. Thus they can and will glitch during solar/geomagnetic storms. This is known. Its just near impossible to prove. So you have to look at Tesla accidents in aggravate not individually and look for patterns like failing to negotiate a curve and driving into an object for no apparent reason. Theres a reason Teslas get into more accidents than any other car statistically.

With the rise of self-driving car technology, it's possible that computer systems on these vehicles could malfunction due to cosmic rays. What if, during an automated trip, imagery from a camera mounted at the front of the car became corrupted and the on-board computer failed to spot a person walking out in front of the vehicle?
However, the research is yet to be published and he says he's not allowed to reveal what the starting level of accuracy was during the experiments.

Such interventions could make self-driving cars of the future safer but they wouldn't eliminate the possibility of a cosmic ray causing other problems. And this raises an interesting conundrum for insurers.

"In a world of fully autonomous vehicles, how can you prove the accident happened because of cosmic rays?" says Rech. "That is very challenging. I mean, it's impossible, by definition." In ambiguous cases, disputes over whether a human or technology manufacturer – or space weather – was at fault might be difficult to resolve
Impossible to prove but can and does happen. Can even be emulated in a lab setting.

=======================================

Heres another example of it being claimed in the media that electromagnetic interference is causing Teslas to drive on their own without driver input. Case study of where this has been observed in other EVs posted below. Video of the Tesla driving itself is here:

Video Footage:

https://youtu.be/AuViTuuYgpg

For an expert opinion, KXAN took the case to Dragan Djurdjanovic. A professor in mechanical engineering, Djurdjanovic looked into similar allegations against Tesla around 2008. The expert said it's very possible that electromagnetic interference between wires caused the accident.
Its EMI but not from inside the car. Instead its coming from outside the car which is why Teslas only go out of control like this during geomagnetic unrest. Also in 2008 it was Toyotas that were having problems with SUA.
https://carbuzz.com/news/tesla-driver-claims-model-y-caused-massive-crash-on-its-own

Not only can low-frequency magnetic fields pose health hazards to human beings, but they can also affect some electric control units (ECUs) in a vehicle. An ECU that consists of Hall-effect sensors located near the battery pack or powertrain modules could be affected by the low-frequency magnetic field if no sufficient shielding is provided.
https://incompliancemag.com/article/low-frequency-magnetic-fields-in-electric-vehicles/

The electromagnetic  interference  affects  the  automobile  electronic  control  system  mainly  in  two  ways:  one is  to  affect  the  input  signal  of  the  sensor  of  the  electronic  control  system,  causing  distortion  and resulting  in  electric  control  signal  where  the  ECU  output  does  not  match  the  driver's  intention,  which leads  to  the  wrong  operation  of  the  actuator;  the  other  is  to  interfere  the  ECU  output  signal  to  result  in its deviation,  misleading the operation of  the actuator.

3 dead, 3 injured after Tesla crashes into light poles, building in Pasadena

Three people were killed and three others were taken to hospitals after a single-car crash that briefly knocked out power to nearby homes and businesses in Pasadena on Saturday morning, May 11, authorities said.

All six people, ages 17 to 22, were in a Tesla Model 3 sedan headed westbound on Foothill Boulevard when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, causing the car to hit the curb just after 2:35 a.m., Pasadena Lt. Anthony Russo said.

“That put the vehicle into the air,” Russo said, before the car hit two city light poles, a power pole and a building at the corner of Foothill and Vista Avenue before coming to rest several hundred feet west of the building.

Police believe speed was a factor in the crash, Russo said.
TTTR you can hold onto this part:
There was evidence at the scene that alcohol may have been involved, but it’s too soon for us to tell if the driver was impaired or if any of the occupants were under the influence,” the lieutenant said.
However i cant tell you how many times Teslas have "failed to negotiate a curve" and driven straight into objects like this. The Tesla using FSD or Autopilot did the same thing when it failed to negotiate a curve driving into a tree. Tesla is being sued for this accident despite the driver being intoxicated.

The lawsuit, which was also filed on behalf of the only child of Von Ohain and Bass, alleges that Tesla, facing financial pressures, released its Autopilot system before it was ready to be used in the real world. It also claims the company has had a “reckless disregard for consumer safety and truth," citing a 2016 promotional video.

Most news coverage of this lawsuit say Autopilot but according to the Washington Post it was FSD!

Thanks for that intro. See another Tesla veers off its path into a pole killing everyone involved. There was also a train that derailed in the early portion of this storm.
Its interesting but most Tesla accidents around CMEs, do so at the earliest stages of the storm or in the day(s) after but less likely during the peak of the storm. Peak of the storm occurred last night but it is still raging. level 4 Geostorm.
Also, for whatever reason, news agency coverage of Tesla accidents are delayed on the weekends.

Oil industry could help the Biden administration tap 'invisible' green energy

BOISE, Idaho — A U.S. Department of Energy report this spring made a bold prediction.

The nascent geothermal industry, it said, has a ready workforce of 300,000 engineers, hydrologists, drillers and power plant operators ready to tap right here in this country.

All that's needed are more early adopters like Tina Riley who are willing to move over from the oil and gas sector. After two decades as a geologist with ExxonMobil in Houston, she recently moved to Idaho to help run Boise's geothermal utility.

"Boise is really well known for geothermal and I wanted to become part of it," Riley says. "I really wanted to be part of the energy transition."

Geothermal energy, which in its simplest form means tapping hot water locked in granite faults sometimes thousands of feet below the surface of the earth to create heat or electricity, is often dubbed an invisible technology. It's long been seen as underutilized. But it's also a hugely expensive renewable resource to extract compared to more conventional drilling.
This is the best form of sustainable energy generation. It provides 24/7 baseline power, doesnt require batteries, and has heat as a byproduct that can be used for heating/cooling purposes. Rain, snow, night, windless, this produces power with little pollution. Especially if it can utilize retired oil wells.

World told to brace for 'severe geomagnetic storm' today - the first in nearly 20 years - which could bring chaos to mobile phone networks, GPS satellites and power grids

The uncommonly powerful solar storm is expected to hit around midday Friday
It follows a series of solar flares that began on Wednesday, tipping officials off
The prospective storm could cause disruptions to GPS, the internet and power

Can also cause Teslas to go out of control and/or spontaneously combust. Can cause battery facilities and transformers to catch fire. Can cause building/bridge collapses through the Hutchison Effect. Airplane crashes and boat crashes due to loss of power/gps. Cause train derailments, again through the Hutchison Effect. Refinery & pipeline fires as well. Watch for sudden large earthquakes. Think of the Obama movie 'The World Left Behind' but not likely that bad as this storm is not on the level of a Carrington event. 5 CME's are heading toward earth which depending on how they hit can amplify the effect.

At least five streams of plasma, known as coronal mass ejections (CMEs), are heading toward Earth, prompting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to issue a severe geomagnetic storm watch for Friday into the weekend.

With the rise of self-driving car technology, it's possible that computer systems on these vehicles could malfunction due to cosmic rays. What if, during an automated trip, imagery from a camera mounted at the front of the car became corrupted and the on-board computer failed to spot a person walking out in front of the vehicle?

Tesla recalls 6,000 cars over risk of loose bolts

Tesla is recalling 5,974 of its electric vehicles over concerns that their brake caliper bolts might loosen, which could potentially cause a loss of tire pressure and increase the risk of a crash, according to documents made public by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Cars that are part of the voluntary recall include certain 2019-2021 Model 3 vehicles and 2020-2021 Model Y vehicles.
Tesla said it was made aware of an issue in December of a field incident involving a 2021 Model Y with a missing fastener on the driver-side rear brake caliper. It has since taken measures to prevent the issue during assembly.
This is the recall i was referring to that could explain why both 2021 Model Y's suddenly veered to the right.

Tesla’s Autopilot drove car into tree, killing Colorado man in fiery crash, lawsuit alleges
The widow of Hans Von Ohain, who worked for Tesla, alleges the self-driving car feature was not ready for consumers

Tesla’s advanced Autopilot driving system malfunctioned and caused one of the electric car maker’s Colorado employees to drive off the road and die in a fiery crash, a newly filed wrongful death lawsuit alleges.

The widow of Hans Von Ohain says her husband was driving back from golfing in Evergreen with a friend on May 16, 2022, when the Autopilot system “unexpectedly caused the 2021 Tesla Model 3 to sharply veer to the right, leading it off the pavement” on Upper Bear Creek Road.

The 33-year-old Von Ohain, who was intoxicated, fought to regain control of the vehicle, “but, to his surprise and horror,” the car drove off the road and into a tree, where it burst into flames, according to the 16-page complaint filed May 3 in Clear Creek County District Court.
If Von Ohain was, in fact, using the Full Self-Driving feature, it would make his death the first known fatality involving Tesla’s most advanced driver-assistance technology, the Washington Post reported.
As you can see the title of the article says Autopilot yet within the article its stated that it was Teslas Full Self Driving feature. Regardless of which system that was utilized, likely FSD as this was a Tesla employee, you can see that that car was experiencing sudden veering events repeatedly before the final time when it veered into a tree like so many Teslas before it without autopilot or FSD enabled. Same behavior across different systems supports my belief that Teslas Autosteer ( Emergency Lane Departure Avoidance subsystem) is responsible for these accident when they glitch. Given the driver being intoxicated, i doubt Tesla will be found guilty despite its cars behaving this way hundreds of times before it.

This is the same thing that happened to the Doctor who "drove his family off a cliff'. It suddenly veered right off the cliff whether he caused it or the car. Theres a recall for an issue with that year and model of Tesla that may not have been wide enough. Maybe FSD kept veering due to an issue with the suspension/tire pressure?

Elon needs to step down and let someone else run Tesla. He has too many irons in the fire, it’s no secret WallStreet does not like him or Tesla. This will stay stagnate until then.

Tesla Set to Autopilot Crashes Along I-80 in Clarion Township
Authorities say the crash happened around 11:35 p.m. on Sunday, May 5

Police say 32-year-old Vu H. Tran, of Cortland, Ohio, was traveling west in a 2023 Tesla Y that was set to autopilot.

According to police, Tran was distracted by his mobile device and lost control of the vehicle which exited the north berm.

The vehicle then traveled into an area with high vegetation as it came to final rest.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage to its front end and undercarriage, police say.
This is oddly worded given the Tesla was on Autopilot. It sounds like while Tran was distracted with his phone, Autopliot, for some reason, veered off road into the vegetation along the berm on the northside of the I-80. This is a common problem for Teslas even without autopilot enabled. Thus ive wondered if Autosteer function, which is enabled even when Autopilot is disabled, tries to course correct the Tesla thinking its on a different path than it actually is? When i say Autosteer function is always enabled, im referring to Teslas emergency lane departure avoidance system which is enabled by default every time a Tesla is turned on. This should be a subsystem of the Autosteer system.

Emergency Lane Departure Avoidance is activated automatically every time the car turns on and intervenes later (and less often) but more forcefully if the driver allows the car to approach a lane-line too closely or quickly without using a turn signal, or if the car's sensors detect an imminent collision. Drivers can also override this system or turn it off, but it resets as soon as the car restarts.

Man dies after Tesla found crashed 300 feet down hillside off Highway 50 near Pollock Pines

POLLOCK PINES -- A man died after he was ejected from his vehicle in a crash off Highway 50 in the area of Pollock Pines on Tuesday.

The El Dorado County Fire Protection District responded to Highway 50 and Outer Limits Road sometime after 11 a.m. Tuesday for reports of a crash.

Firefighters said the report came from the driver's wife receiving a notification that the car, a Tesla, was in a crash.
I posted this accident already, but alot of news articles covering this accident are all about how the Tesla sent an alert to the drivers wife which allowed police to find the driver and his Tesla. Yes this aspect is an example of the positive side of technology. Theres no denying that as it could allow for emergency personnel to get to accident sites sooner to save those involved. The downside of technology is the accident itself. Which was likely caused by the Tesla glitching due to electromagnetic interference brought on by geomagnetic activity. Several CMEs are due to hit starting tomorrow from a sunspot the size of the Carrinton Event sunspot.
