Communications and PR Agency Recognized for Its Work Breaking Weather Intelligence Company Meteomatics Into the U.S. Market

Channel V Media (CVM), a communications strategy and PR firm that specializes in building market momentum for Fortune 500 industry leaders and emerging venture-backed innovators, was named a Gold Stevie® Award winner in two categories of The 22nd Annual American Business Awards®. The company took top honors in the “PR Campaign of the Year (Business-to-Business)” category and the “PR Campaign of the Year (Technology and Communications) category” for its work bringing weather intelligence company Meteomatics into the U.S. market.

In 2023, Channel V Media launched Meteomatics into the U.S. market with the installation of the companies’ first U.S. Meteodrone at GrandSKY Aviation Park in North Dakota. CVM leveraged the news and turned what could have been a local event into a national news story, validating the business and setting the foundation for Meteomatics to grow their U.S. presence exponentially. To maintain momentum, CVM then used Meteomatics’ unique perspective of the weather industry at the intersection of businesses - from energy to insurance to aviation - to insert them into national weather conversations as well as strategically place company stories and commentary to demonstrate weather intelligence’s business impact.

CVM was honored by the American Business Awards for the success of its 3-tier strategy: 1) validating Meteomatics in the U.S. market; 2) putting Meteomatics at the center of national weather conversations; 3) bringing Meteomatics’ business impact to life across industries.

Of Channel V Media and its work with Meteomatics, the American Business Awards judges noted, “Channel V Media’s narrative publicity campaign for Meteomatics is a blueprint for launching a foreign company in the US and engaging with strategic media and narrative construction.”

“From the beginning of our work together, Channel V Media had a deep understanding of how to craft compelling stories for our company’s market. They played an integral role in establishing the narratives we wanted to be known for in the U.S. and then made that strategy a reality in the media,” said Alexander Stauch, Head of Marketing at Meteomatics. “In just two weeks of working together the awareness of our company in the U.S. market grew exponentially and since then has continued to expand greatly in large part due to CVM’s efforts.”

“Bringing international companies into the US market comes with different challenges than working with domestic companies. Media and prospects want to know why the company is relevant to US audiences, that companies and people they respect are vouching for them, and why the company’s offering is better than its US competitors,” said Gretel Going, Founder of Channel V Media. “We’ve come to specialize in the first two, but it’s up to our clients to create something truly outstanding. Fortunately, Meteomatics achieved that when it created the most precise hyper-local weather data available on the market–anywhere in the world. Pair that with heightened interest in climate change, and we had award-winning ingredients that put them at the forefront of leading conversations.”

This year’s American Business Awards competition saw more than 3,700 nominations from organizations of all sizes and industries. The list of 2024 Stevie winners are available at www.StevieAwards.com/ABA.
