Supporta plc ("Supporta" or the "Company")
Response to announcement by Allied Healthcare
The Board of Supporta (the "Board") notes the announcement by Allied Healthcare
International Inc ("Allied") made yesterday confirming that Allied does not
intend to make an offer for Supporta.
The Board of Allied has confirmed to Supporta that they received all the
assistance they required in completing their due diligence process.
The Board has previously announced that despite being in receipt of indicative
interest from a third party other than Mears Group plc ("Mears") it was
recommending shareholders to accept the offer made by Mears on 18 December 2009
("the Mears Offer") as there could be no guarantee that this third party would
make an offer for Supporta.
In light of the announcement yesterday that Allied does not intend to make an
offer for Supporta the Board wishes to reiterate its recommendation that
Supporta shareholders accept the Mears Offer. The first closing date for the
Mears Offer is 12 January 2010.
