    SAGENTIA TECHNOLOGY BEHIND BREAKTHROUGH WATER METER FOR GLOBAL COMPANY

    Sagentia, the international consulting and IP licensing company, is delighted to announce that its client Master Meter Inc. ('Master
Meter'), a global water meter manufacturer, has launched AccuLinx, a water register meter, which was designed and developed with Sagentia at
the recently held American Water Works Association's ACE 2008 conference, one of the largest annual global water conferences. The project
has generated more than US$1 million in consulting fees for Sagentia and the ongoing license deal for the core technology will generate
US$4.5 million for the company over a number of years.  

    AccuLinx is an 8-wheel absolute encoder that does not require batteries to connect water meters to third party Automatic Reading ('AMR')
systems using Sagentia's patented 'Gray Wheels' sensing technology. The new 8-wheel system provides utility companies with a way to
accurately, remotely, and electronically read mechanical odometers for billing purposes as well as detect leaks. AccuLinx is extremely
low-power and by being 'non-contact' no friction is created, enabling its use with multi-jet systems, which make up about half of the water
meters used in the world, most of which had previously been exempt from AMR for this reason.  

    Sagentia was approached by Master Meter initially to design the mechanics (gearbox and enclosure) for a water meter register based on a
third party*s 6-wheel encoder. During a two-year development process, Sagentia initially reduced the tooling outlay for the gearbox variants
by 90 percent - saving Master Meter millions of dollars while also changing the design to include 8 wheels, not 6 as well as creating a new
sensing principle for the absolute encoder, which reads the position of the wheels with an odometer (like a trip meter in a car). Realising
the potential to develop a breakthrough product, Master Meter signed an exclusive license deal with Sagentia for the use of the technology.
