NIKANOR - NOTIFICATION OF INTEREST


Nikanor plc ("Nikanor") has received notification on 24 August 2007 that on 22
August 2007, 2,750,000 ordinary shares of US$1.00 each in the capital of Nikanor
("Ordinary Shares") have been transferred from Pitchley Properties Limited
("Pitchley") to New Horizon Minerals Ltd ("New Horizon"). Immediately following
this transfer New Horizon held in aggregate 22,750,000 Ordinary Shares and
Pitchley held 27,250,000 Ordinary Shares. These holdings represent approximately
11.0% in the case of New Horizon and 13.2% in the case of Pitchley of the entire
issued share capital of Nikanor. It has previously been disclosed that RP
Capital Group ("RPC") exercises indirect management control over New Horizon via
Cosaf Limited, its holding company. Information on RPC's interest in Nikanor was
previously given in Nikanor's announcement of 13 July 2007.

Nikanor is a mining group which owns assets in the heart of the African
copperbelt in the

Democratic Republic of Congo. The group's key mine is KOV, containing one of the
world's largest high quality copper and cobalt ore bodies. Nikanor is
rehabilitating this proven and well documented brownfield site and building a
major state of the art refining plant to produce 250,000 tonnes per year of LME
A-grade copper cathode and 27,500 tonnes per year of cobalt products.



Nikanor was admitted to the London Stock Exchange (AIM) on 17 July 2006.
