     Appointment of Directors and Joint Company Secretary 
    Carpathian Resources Limited ("Carpathian"or"the Company", ASX: CPN; AIM: CPNR) is pleased to announce that Mr.
Andrew Carroll and Mr. Geoffrey King have been appointed as non-executive directors of Carpathian effective on 1
November 2008.
    The intention to make these appointments was stated in the Company's Notice of Annual General Meeting, announced on
27 October 2008. Resolutions 4 and 5 to be put to the Annual General Meeting relate to the reappointment of Mr. Carroll
and Mr. King, respectively. Mr. King has also been appointed as Joint Company Secretary, replacing Mr. Carroll,
alongside Mr. David Hammer.
    Mr. Carroll is currently Managing Director of Australasian Energy Pty Ltd, the CEO of Petroleum Exploration
Australia, and the Executive Chairman of Ausam Resources Limited. He has served as Managing Director for Great Artesian
Oil and Gas Ltd, Director of Business Development for Vermilion Oil and Gas Australia, Technical and Commercial Adviser
to AGL Energy, General Manager of E&P of InterOil Corporation, Manager for Ampolex, and various other roles for other
oil and gas companies. Mr. Carroll has both Bachelor and Master of Engineering degrees from Cambridge University, and
has studied post-graduate Business Law and Tertiary Recovery at the University of Calgary.
    Mr. King is currently a Director of Vermilion Oil & Gas Australia Pty Ltd and Singapore Petroleum Company Limited, a
major Singapore listed public company. He has 39 years of diversified administrative, legal and management expertise,
covering employment with the Australian Government Public Service, Esso Australia Ltd and Ampolex Limited where he
served as General Counsel, Company Secretary and a member of the Executive Committee up to 1996. Mr. King is currently
the principal of a NSW law firm, G J King & Associates, which specialises in Energy Law both within Australia and
internationally.
    The information required to be disclosed in accordance with the AIM rules, with respect to the appointment of Mr.
Carroll and Mr. King to the Board, is set out in Appendix 1 below.
