0511 GMT [Dow Jones] Malaysian shares turn lower at midday break, tracking losses in most regional markets. The benchmark KLCI is off 0.3% at 1683.28 as funds book profits on select blue chips. "There is now a slight possibility of the KLCI starting to take a breather after creating a Long Upper Shadow Line yesterday, which marked the failed attempt to violate the 1,700 psychological mark," says RHB Research in a note. It tips immediate resistance at 1700.55 and support at 1678. In the broader market, gainers beat losers 309 to 240, while 281 shares remain unchanged. Plantation plays are lower, dragged down by Felda Global Holdings (5222.KU) whose shares are 1.3% down at MYR4.63. IOI Corp (1961.KU) shares are off 1% at MYR4.81. Index-heavyweights CIMB Group Holdings (1023.KU) is up 0.7% to MYR7.61 and Malayan Banking (1155.KU) is 0.4% higher at MYR9.49. (abhrajit.gangopadhyay@dowjones.com)
