Reliable Integration Services, Inc. (Reliable) today announced that
it is rapidly moving forward with the implementation of its
Mentor-Protege (M-P) relationship with The Titan Corporation
(NYSE:TTN), a leading national security solutions provider. Titan
and Reliable were informed of the partnership's acceptance in the
Defense Information Systems Agency- (DISA-) managed portion of the
Department of Defense (DoD) M-P Program in late June. As part of
the Titan/Reliable M-P Agreement involving Technology Transfer,
Reliable will become a Titan business partner in the engineering,
installation and management of Titan's patented Multi-Domain
Security Solution (MDSS) product for DoD and Federal customers. The
M-P Program is designed to widen the U.S. economic base by
assisting small businesses in competing for prime-contract and
subcontract awards through partnerships with larger companies.
Titan has been supporting the Program as a DISA-sponsored Mentor
Company since 1997. Although the Defense Federal Acquisition
Regulation Supplement (DFARS) regulation was revised in 2001 to
allow for active participation in the Mentor-Protege Program by
woman-owned small businesses regardless of their socioeconomic
status, Reliable becomes the first woman-owned small business that
is not a small, disadvantaged business (SDB) to participate with
Titan in the program as a DISA Protege. "Reliable is an ideal
partner for us in the Mentor-Protege Program," said Ed Ohlert,
president and general manager of The Titan Corporation's Continuity
Assurance Group. "The company has managed networks of up to 500,000
users for a variety of organizations, and that experience will
prove valuable to DoD agencies as they expand their networks in the
United States and around the globe with MDSS." MDSS is a hardware
and software solution that enables agencies to securely transport
multiple levels of classified voice, video and data traffic over
the same network infrastructure at lower costs and with greater
ease. Titan's MDSS solution has achieved Defense Intelligence
Agency (DIA) certification for transport of traffic classified as
Secret, Top Secret and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
As a member of the Defense Intelligence Certification and Support
Team (DICAST), DIA ensures the product meets the most stringent
requirements for protection of classified information. "We look
forward to working with Titan to bring the revolutionary benefits
of MDSS to DoD customers as they move toward network-centric
operations," said Valerie W. Perlowitz, president and chief
executive officer of Reliable. "Joining the Mentor-Protege Program
with Titan is a significant milestone in our company's history. The
Mentor-Protege Program has fueled the growth of many small
businesses, and we are proud to join that list." About The Titan
