RCN (NASDAQ: RCNI), a local provider of all-digital television, high speed Internet and voice services, has been commended for the 11th consecutive year by the New York State Public Service Commission (NYPSC)for the excellent level of service provided to customers in 2009.

"Every day we do our best to bring added value to the services we provide, while living up to the customer service standards that are based on the NYPSC's recognition," said Tony Ontiveros, vice president and general manager of RCN-New York. "I'm delighted that the NYPSC has chosen again to recognize our improvement and performance year after year since 1999. And I'd like to acknowledge my pride in our market employees for their commitment and tireless efforts."

Commendations are based on two measurements: Customer Trouble Report Rate (CTRR) and PSC Complaint Rate, and achievement of incentive plan targets on these two measurements. This is the 21st consecutive year the Commission has awarded commendations.

"We take our commitment to providing the best customer experience possible very seriously," Ontiveros added. "Additionally, we strive to be a good corporate citizen in the communities we serve. For example, through our partnership with the Nautica NYC Triathlon, which was held on Sunday, we are proud to have recently raised $3,500 for two deserving nonprofit partners, Charity: Water and Veterans Across America."

RCN is also involved in numerous summer activities in New York City and is sponsoring the NYC Swim's 2010 summer swim series, am New York's movie nights on the Hudson and the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival.
