Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. KGaA (FME.XE) and NxStage Medical Inc. (NXTM) have extended their merger agreement end date due to the U.S. government shutdown, Fresenius said Tuesday.

The move is to account for the interruption of the Federal Trade Commission's review of the transaction during the recent shutdown.

The merger date has been moved to Aug. 6, 2019, or to an earlier date for which the FTC will have been fully funded for 60 consecutive days, Germany's Fresenius said.
