Leadership announcement

To my esteemed colleagues and friends,
Today, I am writing to let you know that I have decided to retire, pending the completion of our merger with RCCH HealthCare Partners. It is both a joyous
decision and one that brings me great reflection, as I think of all we have accomplished together over nearly two decades.
As you may know, I am a
founding employee of LifePoint Health. I was fortunate enough to be on the team at HCA that was tapped to spin off a footprint of 23
non-urban
hospitals in 9 states to its own company, with its own mission. It
was exciting, meaningful work and an opportunity that was full of promise promise that continues to be realized today and will continue to be realized into the future. LifePoints mission Making Communities Healthier and
our fundamental belief that everyone deserves access to quality care, close to home
these have been what have driven my commitment to LifePoint for nearly 20 years.
In 2006, I was given the immense honor to serve as your CEO. It has been the highlight of my professional career to lead an organization full of talented,
compassionate people who are working together to care for others. You all have inspired me in ways that are indescribable.
Now, as I watch my first
grandchild grow up and reflect on my family and personal goals, I know it is the right time to step back and turn over the reins. With that, I could not be more proud to announce that David Dill, LifePoints president and chief operating
officer, will assume the role of CEO of LifePoint following my retirement.
David has been a leader at LifePoint for nearly a decade, first serving as
executive vice president and CFO of the company and then transitioning to COO in 2009. His energy, passion, vision and unwavering commitment to quality are nearly tangible. It is under his leadership that we have seen our quality program flourish,
and under his strategic vision, our company has grown to nearly 70 hospitals in 22 states today.
David will be the first CEO of the newly-merged
LifePoint and RCCH HealthCare organization. Pending completion of this transaction, LifePoint will span coast to coast, operating a diversified portfolio of healthcare assets, including approximately 85
non-urban
hospitals in 30 states, regional health systems, physician practices, outpatient centers and post-acute service providers, with leading market positions as the sole community healthcare provider in
the majority of the regions it serves. With David at the helm, I know that our culture will remain strong, and that LifePoint will advance its mission in even more remarkable ways.
I want to thank you for all you have given and continue to give to your patients, communities and LifePoint. This is a very special organization, to which I
am proud of contributing.
Sincerely,
Bill Carpenter
