SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Building Materials Holding Corporation (NASDAQ:BMHC) today announced that Ellis Goebel, Senior Vice President Business Development and Investor Relations has retired effective December 31, 2005. Mr. Goebel will serve as an advisor to the Company for one year. Robert E. Mellor, BMHC's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "Ellis was a key player in the 1987 leveraged buyout from Boise Cascade that resulted in the creation of BMC West. As a founder of the Company, and in his previous roles as Vice President and Treasurer and as Senior Vice President -- Finance, he has played a significant part in the development and expansion of BMHC over the years. We are grateful for his many contributions and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement."
