Call 1-703-750-1000 for Relight Service POTOMAC, Md., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Washington Gas has restored natural gas service to the Potomac, Md., area that experienced a service interruption yesterday. However, the company urges customers who have not yet contacted its customer service department to schedule pilot relighting services inside their homes to do so immediately. Service to the area was re-established this morning at 3:10 a.m., and Washington Gas has visited most customers in the area to restore service to their homes by relighting their furnace pilot lights. As of 7:00 a.m., about 399 of the 660 customers had their natural gas service relighted in their homes. Approximately 260 customers either weren't available to allow access to their homes when technicians stopped by, or will be visited shortly. Customers should contact Washington Gas at 1-703-750-1000 as soon as possible to arrange for a relight. Technicians are available to respond immediately. The warming center established at the Potomac Recreation Center on Falls road closed late last night. The service interruption was caused by a weather-connected mechanical problem. Washington Gas appreciates your patience and understanding, and apologizes for any inconvenience.
