The Quantum Group Reaches WebServices Agreement With Second County Medical Society in Florida WELLINGTON, Fla., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Quantum Group, Inc. (OTC:QTUM) (BULLETIN BOARD: QTUM) announced that it has reached an agreement with a second Florida Medical Society to provide the organization with a state-of- the-art website that is both interactive and educational. Collectively, through this newly established agreement and the previously announced relationship with the Broward County Medical Association, the two medical organizations represent approximately 2,000 physicians who provide care to over 2 million patients. "We intend to provide a new platform for select medical societies to facilitate interaction, education and information with the public at large and to the members of the medical society," commented Noel J. Guillama, president of The Quantum Group, Inc. Guillama added, "Through our division Quantum Medical WebServices, we seek to create an online community for the society's physician membership, and for the patients for whom they provide care. A local medical society is an invaluable resource -- our intent is to increase the positive awareness of the society and to provide an additional benefit of membership for its physician members." Quantum expects to unveil the new site by the end of the month with other Florida-based sites subsequently following soon after, and has announced that it is in serious discussions with medical societies throughout the nation as it anticipates a slow and controlled nationwide roll-out in 2006-2007. The first medical society website built through this initiative was for the Broward County Medical Association and can be found at http://www.bcma.com/ . The websites developed by Quantum Medical WebServices contain valuable content from leading-edge information providers. Additionally, Quantum has agreed to share a portion of the revenues derived through educational sponsorship opportunities on the site with the society. Next steps include creating secure e-mail from physician to physician and from physician to patient, establishing a physician search engine, implementing scheduling options and potentially enabling a full expansion to an electronic medical records information platform. Mr. Guillama further commented, "A recent study was conducted by Manhattan Research, LLC (June 8, 2004) entitled '366,000 Physicians Trying to "Connect" with Professional Societies Online.' This research confirmed that physicians are more often seeking additional online information and education, and deemed that the majority of professional societies, to which these physicians belong, are currently missing these opportunities." What's more, another study conducted by the Pew Internet and American Life Project concluded that eighty percent of adult Internet users (which equates to almost half of Americans over 18 years of age) have searched for information online about at least one major health topic.
