Diversified Security Solutions Receives Follow-Up Order from San Francisco Municipal Railway Viscom Division partners with March Networks to install on-board digital video recording devices NEW YORK, June 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Diversified Security Solutions Inc. (AMEX:DVS), a turnkey provider of technology-based integrated electronic security solutions, today announced that its Viscom Division received a follow-up order to furnish and install Mobile Digital Video Recorder (MDVR) systems on San Francisco Municipal Railway's Light Rail Vehicles (LRV). This order follows Phase I of the project, which was successfully completed in 2004. It is expected that by the end of 2005, the entire LRV fleet will be fully equipped with on-board video surveillance systems. March Networks (TSE:MN), a leading provider of IP-based digital video surveillance solutions, manufactures the 5308 MDVR device slated to be used in this installation and also partnered with DVS last year during Phase I of the installation. The MDVR system uses the transit authority's existing WiFi network to facilitate automated wireless downloads of video feeds from mobile DVRs as vehicles approach a central depot. This process essentially eliminates manual labor associated with physically retrieving video files from each vehicle and also allows for faster incident response and resolution in the event of a security problem since video files are always up-to-date.
