WESTCHESTER, Ill., Dec. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Insurance Auto
Auctions, Inc. (IAA), a business unit of KAR Auction Services
(NYSE: KAR), and the leading live and live-online salvage auto
auction company, announced that Mothers Against Drunk
Driving® (MADD) has become a benefactor partner of the
One Car One Difference® program, IAA's public awareness campaign
aimed to support vehicle donations to charities nationwide. As the
nation's largest nonprofit working to protect families from drunk
driving and underage drinking, MADD's vehicle donation program,
"One Good Turn," will raise funds to support its mission to stop
drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and
prevent underage drinking.
"MADD's One Good Turn program provides the public an easy and
cost-effective way to help us keep families and roadways safe by
donating their used vehicles," said Jan
Withers, MADD National President. "It's truly a beautiful
picture of how a vehicle can do so much good for people whose lives
have been changed forever by a drunk driving crash."
MADD selected IAA's Donation Division as its national vehicle
donation partner in May 2014. Through
the partnership, IAA has managed MADD's vehicle donation program,
"One Good Turn," which helps turn donated vehicles into charity
dollars to help support MADD's programs in the community.
Every vehicle donated through One Car One Difference® will be
sold at auction by IAA, which has provided complete processing
services for nonprofit organizations to sell donated vehicles at
auction since 1994.
MADD's vehicle donation program accepts any vehicle running or
not, including cars, trucks, vans, boats and recreational vehicles,
and all donations may be eligible for a tax deduction on one's
federal income tax return. A MADD vehicle donation through One Car
One Difference® helps MADD's mission to fight drunk driving and
improve the awareness and technology needed to prevent drunk
driving.
"IAA offers nonprofit organizations such as MADD an opportunity
to maximize their impact and help generate much needed funds to
raise awareness about the benefits of donating a vehicle," said
John Kett, CEO and president,
Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. "We are excited to partner with MADD
and provide their donors with the special opportunity to give back
to the public and make a difference through vehicle donation."
Founded in 1980, MADD is one of the most widely supported
nonprofit organizations in America. Known for its heart for victims
and grassroots advocacy to fight drunk driving, MADD expanded its
lifesaving work by adding the prevention of underage drinking in
1999. MADD's efforts are supported by local, state and federal
governments, corporations, educators, think tanks, the media and
the general public. Their work has saved over 300,000 lives to
date.
