London Stock Exchange Covered Warrants
As one of the world's largest equity exchanges and provider of services that facilitate trading and raising of capital, the London Stock Exchange is a Recognised Investment Exchange (RIE) and supervised by the Financial Services Authority. Created in 1801, the LSE has many overseas listings as well as listings for UK companies.
In 2002, the London Stock Exchange announced that it would introduce covered warrants into the market. Covered warrants give the holder the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell an asset at a specified price, within a given time period. Originally, 6 investment banks intended to issue a range of these warrants.
