Aluminium is used in many different industries and is viewed as very important to the world economy.

This soft, light-weight metal can be found in the aerospace industry, as well as transportation and building. When compared to steel or copper, aluminium is about one-third as dense and is easily machined and cast.

Almost all segments of the world's economy employ this metal and its global use exceeds that of any other metal except for iron. Due to its strength-to-weight ratio, aluminium is ideal for use in aircraft and rocket production.
